Quick little DR update!

πŸ“Jim and I have been working hard on learning Spanish. We take two online video lessons a week, with an instructor that is Dominican and we use a few apps and work on those daily as well.

πŸ“One of the big reasons we are working so hard at trying to learn Spanish as much as we can before we move is because when we moved to Haiti, we had people holding our hands so to speak. RMI had been establish for around 30 years, and there were a lot of staff and missionaries that showed us exactly where to go, what to buy, what to do etc.

πŸ“Well, when we go to the DR, we are the first from RMI to be there and it will be JUST our family until we slowly build our team there. No hand holding haha. 🀣 We are excited for this but also know it will be a lot of work as we build from the ground up. So when we go buy food or do anything, we really need to know Spanish.

πŸ“Since we are sort of “pioneering” this new field for RMI and slowly building what they have been doing in Haiti for years, but over in the DR, we want to be as fluent in the native language as we can. While also sharpening and furthering our language in creole as we will still be working with Haitians on a daily basis.

πŸ“Jim and I will be heading to the DR here in a few weeks to look for a house and look at a few schools for Zeke. Please be in prayer for us. We still need another $1,250 in new MONTHLY supporters as well, to help support our family and what we will be doing in the DR! Please consider joining our support team, thank you!
